Short Story Collection

My project for the young adult literature class is to
create a collection of short stories for non-English
teachers to keep in their rooms for students to read
during our school wide SSR program.  The biggest
complaint from these teachers is what to do with
students who come to class with nothing to read.  My
hope is that by having a compilation of interesting
stories on hand, they will feel more at ease with our
SSR program.

Here are the books I will be using to start the
collection:

1.  Center Stage: One-Act Plays for Teenage Readers
and Actors edited by Donald R. Gallo

2.  On the Edge: Stories at the Brink edited by Lois
Duncan

3.  Sixteen Short Stories by Outstanding Writers for
Young Adults edited by Donald R. Gallo

4.  Visions: 19 Short Stories by Outstanding Writers
for Young Adults edited by Donald R. Gallo

5.  Necessary Noise: Stories About Our Families As
They Really Are edited by Micahel Cart

6.  Join In: Multiethnic Short Stories by Outstanding
Writers for Young Adults edited by Donald R. Gallo

7.  Big City Cool: Short Stories About Urban Youth
edited by M. Jerry Weiss and Helen S. Weiss

8.  The Color of Absence: 12 Stories About Loss and
Hope edited by James Howe

9.  Night Terrors: Stories of Shadow and Substance
edited by Lois Duncan

10. Time Capsule: Short Stories about Teenagers
Throughout the Twentieth Century edited by Donald R.
Gallo

11.  On the Fringe edited by Donald R. Gallo

12.  No Easy Answers: Short Stories About Teenagers
Making Tough Choices edited by Donald R. Gallo

13.  Chasing Shadows: Stories by Lucrecia Guerrero

I am also going to use Writer's Inc. and Chicken Soup
for the Teenage Soul

I am also considering adding in some poetry.
Presently I have:

Poetry Website

Poetry Across the Americas, 1900-2002 edited by
